Beach Babe!

I couldn't pick which picture to post from this past weekend at the beach, so there are quite a few. Obviously Emory's 1st beach trip was last summer when she's was a couple of weeks old, but this was her first time being able to play in the sand. Aaron and I had no idea what to expect, but it turns out she LOVES the beach! When we got there, we sat her down and she immediately began eating the sand...and lots of it! Aaron filled some of her toys with water and she splashed around in those for a little while.

The water was freezing, but we couldn't take her to the beach without testing her in the ocean. (we're bad parents, I know) She sat at the edge of the water, and as I stepped back to get out of the picture, this enormous wave came and knocked her over. She screamed, but as soon as I picked her up and wrapped her in the towel she was fine, and squirming to get back down in the sand.

We put her silly little hat on since we didn't want her very bald head to get burned, and she crawled up and down the sand for a long time. It was so nice that she didn't have any boundaries (like she does at home) and could crawl as far as she wanted. We didn't exactly time it perfect, so after about an hour and a half, it was naptime and we headed back up to the house. She must have been tired, because she took at 3 1/2 hour nap! We had a great time and can't wait to get back!
