Emory tried her hand at fingerpainting for the first time this weekend. Saturday morning, while still in our pajamas (hence the mismatched outfit), we took our blankets, paints and paper out on the back deck and played.
Waiting patiently for Mommy to open my paints...
At first she wasn't quite sure what to do...which is odd, considering she "fingerpaints" with her spilled milk on the kitchen table all the time.
She doesn't usually like to get her hands very dirty...
But this was quite the exception to the rule...

Well she only liked being dirty for a little while...
Then we cleaned up and played in the grass with Daddy.

Just a note: when "planning" your child's first work of art, choose colors that won't be so "brown" when mixed together. Her painting is precious, and will surely be framed, but it's definitely "brown".
