Just a short 12 months ago, Emory dressed up as a pink leopard (super cute!), sat against some pumpkins, and made a few visits on Halloween to show off her costume...all while having no clue what was going on.
No, we still didn't really "trick-or-treat" this year, but Emory was definitely more excited about Halloween this year. For some random reason I decided a few months ago to make it my goal to make her Halloween costume. We chose this poodle skirt because it looked like the easiest one to make! :) I finished with about a week and a half to spare and was so proud of myself. It was far from perfect, but not too shabby if I do say so myself!! It even had a "net petticoat" to wear underneath so that skirt seemed full! I put her in the skirt the day before Halloween just for her to get used to wearing it, and DARN if the child hadn't grown since I made it! I had to move the clasps to the very edge, and even then there was about a 1/2 inch gap in the waistband. But oh well, she looked super cute, and loved pointing to the "puppy" on the front all night. We stopped by my parents, where Emory got some treats...her favorite being the animal crackers, but the stuffed monkey (her new thing is "What does a monkey say?" "oo oo ah ah") came in a close second!

We also stopped by Aaron's Mom's house and Emory insisted on walking to the front door herself (not so much to the front door actually...just walking) and then wanted to climb the steps. That, of course, didn't work out so well and she almost lost some teeth on Halloween! We rang the door bell and as soon as Aaron's Mom opened the door she turned and tried to go back down the stairs! The poor thing was scared we were leaving her there for the night again! Once we all got in she was fine. She had a blast playing with Mimi & Papa's dogs, Harley and Milly, well past her bedtime!

After changing into her pjs, we loaded back in the car and headed home. She was thoroughly exhausted, as were Aaron and I, and we all were tucked into bed by 11:00. Now onto Thanksgiving! Emory's already started practicing "gobble gobble gobble"!
