Winter Piano Recital

Watson has only been taking piano for a few months, but was so excited to be a part of the Winter Piano Recital!
He played
We Wish You a Merry Christmas
and
Jingle Bells.
He had a few little hiccups during his first song, and I could tell by how he immediately slumped his shoulders when he finished that he was disappointed in himself.
Luckily he nailed his second song which restored his confidence!
Emory has been taking lessons for about 18 months, which means she's a little more comfortable, but is also playing some more difficult songs.
She played the Star Wars theme song first,

And then played a Christmas song by memory!
It was a great performance from all. We loved how the program started with some of the younger students, showing where they begin, then ended with some of the oldest and more advanced students playing some really incredible pieces. It gets the younger ones excited about continuing with lessons and someday being able to play that well!
Thankful that the kids have inherited a love of music, and hopefully they will continue to enjoy it as well as play it.

(Emory's friend, Lauren, also takes lessons with Ms. Kate, so they each cheered the other one on!)
