Disney World {The Surprise!}

Way back in the spring Aaron and I decided we were going to take Emory to Disney for the first time. She is into princesses about as much as I could ever imagine a child being, and while I know she won’t grow out of it completely for awhile, she is definitely at the special point where the princesses are real in every way. And we knew that if we waited another year or two to take all three kids at once, the boys wouldn’t be interested in the things she would be. So we began planning a surprise trip and looking forward to the big day when we could  let her in on the secret!

We picked her up from school at noon and I thought she would immediately ask why Daddy was in the car, but she didn’t. We pulled out of the carpool line and told her we had a surprise for her. We pulled into the neighboring business’ parking lot and here’s how it went…

{part one}

{My mom beeped in on my phone as we were recording, so the video got broken into two sections.}

{part two}

We spent the first day driving down to Orlando and her asking ‘are we there yet?’ about a thousand times. I packed her a big bag of goodies, all having to do with Disney or princesses, to keep her busy on the way, but she was so excited she could hardly focus on anything. We pulled into Cracker Barrel to grab dinner just outside of Orlando and when she walked into the store her eyes grew huge and she said ‘Is this Disney World?!’ with a huge smile on her face. She was a little bummed that we still hadn’t gotten there, but I knew the wait was gonna be well worth it when she arrived at Cinderella’s Castle the next morning!
