Happy Birthday, Baby Boy!

Hard to believe we’re celebrating Boland’s first birthday already!

I can’t help but be saddened by the fact that my little one is growing up so fast. But instead of moping, I’m trying to focus on enjoying his last bit of babyness.

I want to keep him from walking {which he’s already figured out}, keep him from sipping on milk from a big boy cup, keep his thighs huge and chunky forever, freeze his vocabulary while it’s just bye-bye and mama, and savor the fact that he’ll still fall asleep on my shoulder.

Unfortunately I’ve got to accept the fact that he’s growing. At least he’s growing into a healthy and happy toddler.

Happy birthday sweet Boland! You have blessed us in uncountable ways of the last year and we couldn’t have asked God to send us a better baby brother {or brudder bear as Watson likes to call you!}. As all parents do, your daddy and I couldn’t imagine how we’d have enough love for another child before we had you, but we’ve been amazed at how you wrapped us both around your chunky little finger from day one.  And your big sister and big brother soon after that! May God continue to bless you with health and happiness and may your second year be as wonderful  as your first! We love you so very much!
