We can't wait for Spring! A couple of weeks ago, we got a little taste of the weather to come. Em and I ate lunch outside on the deck everyday that week and she absolutely loved running around the backyard. A little fresh air helped my "morning" (read: allday) sickness, too, and we both were sad to see the beautiful weather turn cold again. That Sunday after church, when Em usually goes down for a nap, we let her play for an hour or so outside.
She has LOVED bubbles, but we haven't really had a day to use them since back in the fall when it was warmer. But this time she finally learned how to blow the bubbles herself! You should have seen the expression on her face when she realized she had done it! What a big girl!

She still isn't exactly 100% sure what the bubbles are, though, as she also thought the bubble wand was a lollipop half the time.
Unfortunately the last half of this container of bubbles fell to it's death as she got too excited and threw her arms up, spilling the entire bottle...right onto her shoes.
So she moved on to her soccer ball. Pink, of course. She has taken a liking to the 'ole soccer ball, and insists on holding it while watching tv most of the time. She's finally starting to learn that you can only kick it, not throw it.
And finally Daddy got out her Gamecock tricycle that Santa brought to Grandmama and Granddaddy's house. Her feet don't quite reach the pedals, so Daddy has to push her around. (I think a bubble found it's way onto my lens...see that weird spot?)

After riding her bike, we took out her finger paints and did some artwork. Apparently the paper got a little too "traditional" and she decided to paint both of her legs. I had to strip her down and scrub her off to put her down for a nap. But after so much fun in the backyard, she had a nice LONG Sunday rest!
