After 9 months of teaching, 13 hours of dress rehearsal, almost 600 costumes and 63 dance numbers, the 2009 Recital went off without a hitch. I fully expected to wake up this morning feeling a great sense of accomplishment that I had actually pulled it off. Instead, I woke up wondering how in the world I was ever gonna thank each and every person that helped make it a success. Just so you know, I am not one to delegate. I quickly learned that no amount of planning, organizing and preparing on my part would matter if I didn't have such a wonderful group of people giving their all to help pull off such a big event.
It didn't hit me until this evening how incredibly tired I am. I've fled to the beach for a week with my baby girl and my mom, to be joined by my hubby and dad tomorrow, for some much needed relaxation. Is it kinda strange that some small part of me is already missing hearing "Ms. Amy this..." and "Ms. Amy that..." one thousand times per hour? It's the truth. Nothing makes teaching more worth it than when you see a precious 4 year old dressed in a sparkling ballet costume, with her mama's blush and lipstick on and her hair slicked back in a bun asking, "Ms. Amy, did I do good?". And without a doubt the answer is yes. I couldn't be more proud of all my sweet little dancers!
Thanks to all of you for the sweet texts, calls and emails for good luck! Those, along with about a billion prayers, seemed to do the trick!
Hopefully I'll be back soon with lots of fun pictures from our laid back week at the beach!
Oh-and to Miss Gracie and her family, we are so glad to be "openly" excited about baby #2!! We love you so very much...even if you aren't keeping up with your blog very well! :) Can't wait for Baby Staggs and Baby Dupree to love each other as much as Gracie and Em do!!

Yay! It's over-we can finally get together and be relaxed (that is after the next 3 weeks because my own sanity is on hold until then) :o) Thank you for your excitement! These two will definitely love each other if their mommies have anything to say about it! Miss and love you guys!
