T minus 3 days.

Recital officially begins on Monday. I have approximately 70 hours until I have to have every last thing done and ready. Not that I'm counting down the time or anything.

Although I wouldn't say I'm overly "stressing", I am definitely "surviving" at this point. My mind continuous runs through each and every task that must be done as well as "what-if" scenarios. I haven't actually tasted anything I've eatten in about a week. I feel tired from the moment I wake up until the moment my head hits the pillow to go back to bed at night. And (gasp!), I haven't straightened my hair in 5 whole days! That's how you know I'm in full-on planning mode.

We've tried to squeeze in a little fun around here though, amidst the work chaos. We went out to cheer for Aunt Jo in her last ever softball tournament. Emory seemed to enjoy the ring pop more than the game. They secured a win that night, but unfortunately didn't take home the "State Champ" title. Oh well. You'll always be our MVP Aunt Jo!!

Mother's Day was a lovely one. Aaron made stuffed french toast (homemade!) on Sunday morning. Emory gave me a sweet card and an even sweeter gift certificate for a massage. We headed to church. Then we had lunch at our house for all of Aaron's family. Emory enjoyed being doted on (as always) for a few hours. Then the 3 of us took a long nap. In fact Emory woke up and Aaron and I still felt like we could use a few more minutes of sleep, so Em watched cartoons in our bed while we snoozed a little longer. It was bliss. Except for the fact that this pregnancy has be experiencing major hot flashes and I woke up drenched in sweat. Then we headed to Brandywine for dinner with my fam. Unfortunately for her, I put my mother to work sewing some dance costumes as soon as she took her last bite of dinner. We managed to finish the last bit of altering for this year! Thanks mom!

This entire week Emory has enjoyed LOTS of one on one time with her grandmama while I've been working 'round the clock at the studio. From what I hear, they've been having an absolute blast together. Which has included lots of time in the backyard, kissing her newfound friend, the lion. And apparently she's been pretty well behaved too! I know she's been loving being with my mom, but boy have I missed her.

And guess who refused to sit in her highchair this morning? Somebody wanted to eat breakfast like a big girl, and although I just knew it would be an absolute mess, I let her.Turns out she wasn't messy at all and she thought she was hot stuff. Maybe she's just getting herself ready for #2 to come along and steal all of her stuff!

Mom, Em and I are headed to the beach first thing Wednesday morning for a week, so I can't wait to snuggle and spoil and love on my little girl again! Until then, it's back to work. Hopefully Recital will be smooth sailin' by Monday morning. But I'd never turn down a little luck and a few prayers, so send both my way!!

Good luck! I know everything will be great! I know you must be busy, I can always tell I'm busy when my hair doesn't get straightened either!
