Halloween 2009

Things have been crazy around here for the past week.
So much so that even the little ones are trying to escape the chaos.
{Apparently all she wanted to take with her was a small ceramic pumpkin figurine.}

While it contributed to the craziness, Halloween was a successful one.
The night before Halloween, we headed to Boo at the Zoo with some friends.
Emory was excited to dress up as Little Bo Peep again.

Sweet Callie was a sheep.
Mr. Henry sported his koala costume.

Most of the animals had gone to bed by the time we were there, but a few were out to meet and greet.

{Where does she get the courage to want to pet a snake? Yuck!}
See Baby Boy's sheep ears? Poor thing. That was the extent of his costume.

That morning {I procrastinated, I know.} I was working on his costume and my sewing machine broke. He stayed in the wrap mostly, so it wasn't a huge deal, but I definitely felt like "Worst Mom of the Year".
Emory got a little trick-or-treating practice before the big night.
Hard to believe this will be a group of 5 next year, with Watson and Baby Boy Helfer!
And there's no doubt they will love Mr. Vaughn as much as these kiddos do.
By Saturday afternoon we were all a little under the weather, so trick-or-treating was short and sweet.
After getting the hang of saying "trick-or-treat!" and holding her bag open, she got excited to get more candy!

She certainly loves her little sheep.
But apparently we bore him.
Bo Peep and her sheep stopped by Mimi and Papa's house.
And Baby Girl got to "trick-or-treat" like a big girl for the first time.
After seeing how much she understood and enjoyed Halloween this year, I can't wait to see her reaction during these next couple of months as we prepare for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

I miss you guys so much! I have been such an emotional wreck this week--I am so sentimental about everything. Hope to have good news for you soon. Love you!

She gets the courage to pet the snake from her daddy! Glad I got to take Miss Priss on her first "trick-or-treating experience!!" :)
