Pumpkin Patch Picnic Playdate

Say that 5 times fast.

Before heading to school, my two little pumpkins were dressed and ready for a fun day. This was their first time "matching", and Emory was so excited that I made Watson a "punkin shirt" just like hers! I know dressing your kids alike can be overdone sometimes, but oh-my-goodness, I just wanted to eat 'em up seeing that matching cuteness!!

{I promise we won't match everyday.}
After picking Baby Girl up from school, we headed back to the pumpkin patch to meet some friends for a picnic lunch. All of the kids {7 of them!} enjoyed exploring the pumpkins...
With the exception of little David, who preferred to stick close to the mamas and the blanket.
Emory wanted to play hide-and-seek...minus the seek. She just likes to cover her eyes, count and shout "Here I come!".
Em made a "monser maks" {monster mask} in school and loved trying to scare everyone. And make sure you act scared, or she'll stand there for hours waiting for a reaction from you.
She got very frustrated that her baby brother wasn't frightened by her mask!
She was pleased that she could get a reaction out of Baby Jack, even though he wasn't the least bit scared. He's all smiles all the time!
Callie was doing her best to keep up with the big kids with her new found walking skills. Way to go, big girl!
The kids had a wonderful time roaming the pumpkin patch and running off some energy.
This week Emory had a few Halloween parties, and I fooled everyone into thinking I had slaved for hours in the kitchen with these cute Boo Brownies. They are so simple and would be great if you're looking for a last minute Halloween treat to make.Really, they are so easy. As in only 5 simple steps.
1.Bake a batch of brownies. {I cut mine into pretty small squares since they were for young kids, but I'd leave them a little bigger for older kids or adults.}
2.Melt a tub of store bought icing. {I microwaved mine for 20 seconds. And make sure to use "white" icing, not "vanilla", or else your ghosts look a little yellow.}
3.Place a large marshmallow on each brownie. {I dipped the bottom of my marshmallows into the melted icing before placing them on the brownies, and then let it harden, so then they were glued together.}
4.Drizzle the melted icing over each marshmallow until it's completely covered. {As the icing cooled, I had to work it a little with a spoon.}
5.Using a small tube of black gel icing, draw the ghost's face on each marshmallow.
{Make sure to let the icing completely harden before this last step!}
I don't know that you would call them gourmet, but they sure are adorable!
We also made a batch of Candy Corn Bark. Easier than the brownies, but not quite as cute. Still very tasty!
On a lightly greased baking sheet {I just lined mine with parchment paper}, spread
16 crushed oreos
1 1/2 cups pretzels, broken into small pieces
1/3 cup peanuts {The recipe calls for raisins, but I'm not a fan, so I opted for peanuts.}
In the microwave or a double boiler, melt 1 1/2 pounds {2 bags} of white chocolate morsels.
Drizzle the white chocolate over the oreo/pretzel/peanut mix and spread to cover well.
Sprinkle the white chocolate with 2 cups of candy corn.
Let it harden, then break into pieces and enjoy!
Side note: If you're trying to loose baby weight, have a little taste, then send all of the leftovers to your husband's office.
{Don't worry, Dad. I saved a little of each to bring to you!}

We had a great time at our Pumpkin Picnic, but how did I miss out on your goodies?! They are so cute, and I'm sure super tastey! And I think your matching "Punkins" were adorable!

I've been forever meaning to log on blogger and tell you that your two kiddos are adorable; remind me so much of my own :-) Congratulations on your baby boy! Glad he's starting to sleep a little better. Praying my Davey follows that behavior real soon. His gas is atrocious. Boys.

And I'm so glad the binding/wrapping technique has worked for you! Make sure you don't stop yet, do it till he's a good three or four months. You'll be surprised how much more of a difference it will make. If the ACE bandage is too much of a hassle to put on get a sturdy, strong shaper (SPANX isn't strong enough) at TJ Maxx, Marshall's Kohls, etc. where they have good quality ones for real cheap. I like the color nude because it goes under everything.
