Seven Months Old

You are officially closer to being a one-year-old than you are to being a newborn. How sad and exciting at the same time! I continue to say that you learn so much each month, but this month has definitely been a monumental one! Starred Photos100Thank goodness you’ve seemed to slow down a little on the weight gain. You are finally able to wear an outfit more than once or twice before I have to put it away!! But we love that you haven’t lost your trademark pot belly and chunky little thighs. You are still wearing mostly your 12-month clothing and are now in a size 3 diaper. Before Emory was potty-trained {Yes! She’s finally potty-trained! Mostly.} you both could wear the same size diaper!IMG_9917You are continuing to enjoy eating solid food, and we haven’t yet found something you don’t like. We’ve added green beans, butternut squash, sweet potatoes and blueberries to your menu and you’ve started eating Gerber Puffs. After hand-feeding you a few times, you were tired of that and can now pick them up and {90% of the time} feed yourself!

The night after you turned seven months, we were all playing before bed and you finally decided you were done with army crawling and you moved on to the real thing! And since then you haven’t slowed down one bit. Your big sister has had quite a time learning that she can’t leave her toys lying around anymore, or else someone gets a hold of them…and usually leaves teeth marks.

Yes, teeth marks! Well, a  single tooth mark. The same night you crawled I found your first tooth! A couple nights of restless sleep and then up pops your bottom right tooth. A few days later, you’re having the same trouble sleeping and I can feel your bottom left tooth almost at the surface. What a big boy!Starred Photos101You’re easily recognizing a few words…like your name, bottle, paci, and Emory.

This month we also ditched the baby tub and you get to play in the big tub with Emory now! While we’ve had to catch you a few times from going under, you absolutely love to play with the bath toys and sit like a big boy!

Once you began crawling, we lowered your crib, and not a moment too soon. As I was lowering it, you held onto the rails and pulled to your knees! Starred Photos102During your seventh month, we announced that you were no longer going to be the baby, and you took the cue and grew up right before our eyes this month. While I do miss your newborn days, you are SO MUCH FUN and a perfect addition to our family.

While Mommy and Daddy love you more than we ever thought possible, there’s no doubt Baby Girl is your biggest fan. When you both wake up from naps, she asks “You have a good nap, Baby Watson?”. When you’re crying, she tells you “It’s okay, brother bear!”.  When you’re eating in your high chair, she asks “Dat good food? You like it?”. And on the rare occasion you’re not in the car with me when I pick her up from school, she wonders “Why Baby Watson not here?” and is on edge until we get to you. I know fights are in the future {and a little of that has started now that you’re crawling}, but I love how much you love each other.   IMG_9951   Happy seven months Baby Boy!
