this week {from my phone}

This week started out with the stomach bug…no way to start a good week! I got it {badly} and then Boland got a touch of it. Needless to say, we did a lot of lounging in our pajamas. IMG_4621With it being Recital season, we’ve been hitting Moe’s on Tuesday nights for dinner. Not only is it something that my kids will eat every last bite of, but they LOVE that the balloon man is there too! This weeks selections: a flower and a rocket.IMG_4627This is the first thing we do every day we get home from school. Dump all the sand out of our shoes! The kids have learned to take their sweet time doing it, too, because they know that naps follow shortly after. IMG_4630Still not feeling great, Boland and I sipped on some ginger ale. He tasted it for the first time…IMG_4640And seemed to like it! By his smirk, it was obvious he could tell it was something he shouldn’t be allowed to have.IMG_4641By chance, I somehow ended up with only one kid at school pickup time. This is extremely rare and I took advantage of it! I had to grab some makeup from the department store, so afterwards Boland and I stopped by the bookstore for a while. He was mesmerized and it made me feel bad that I didn’t do it more often with him. He got to pick out a board book to buy, and of course he picked out a Llama Llama book we already had, so we switched it out for Going On A Bear Hunt, which the kids have adored!IMG_4648As I was getting out some maternity clothes, I decided the contents of my closet needed a major overhaul. As in the last time I purchase ‘nice’ clothing was before I was pregnant with Emory, and most everything in between pregnancies had been Target or Old Navy pieces. I bit the bullet and tossed everything into about huge garbage bags for goodwill and decided to just start over after the baby. It felt refreshing, yet scary at the same time. I, of course, kept my good jeans, some nice coats and sweaters and some sentimental pieces, but otherwise it’s all gone! Looks like I’ll be asking for a major shopping spree for my 30th birthday!IMG_4650Speaking of clothing, this one absolutely begs me to help fold clothes when she sees the laundry basket. I’m a little particular when it comes to how the laundry is folded, so I’ve put off letting her help until recently. Turns out she’s been studying my folding techniques and together we can get the job done much faster…and she thinks it’s fun! {She also loves sorting the clothes and putting them away. Score!}IMG_4655Watson headed to the Carolina baseball game with Granddaddy, so after an early dinner, Aaron and I strolled the other two kids down the street to get some frozen yogurt. We have loved that our house is within walking distance of so many things, which means we don’t have to feel as bad about eating sweets since we’re walking it off in the process! IMG_4657IMG_4665Watson continues his naked-streak. He asked to ‘dus be naked and pway wif da zoo’.IMG_4670We headed to the Friday night baseball game as a family and ran into Rosie and Eliza, which the kids loved. And thank goodness Bama’s colors are so similar to USC’s, because Emory would NOT have played with someone pulling for the other team! :)IMG_4672
