Four Months Old

Happy four months, Baby Boy!
It's hard to believe yet another month has passed by.
You are continuing to grow much too fast for my liking (and for your wardrobe!), but your cute little personality shows itself more and more each and every day, which is so entertaining.
This month you giggled at me for the first time.
You also rolled over for the first time, which relieved me, as I was worried why you hadn't yet {Emory rolled over at eight weeks}! You still only roll over when you're in the crib and fussing before you fall asleep.
You absolutely love your Jumperoo and Johnny Jump Up. As long as someone is in the room with you, you'll bounce side to side for what seems like hours. {Really only 30 minutes or so, but nowadays that seems like an eternity!!}
You have finally begun to enjoy taking a bath and have now started joining your big sister for bath time each night. When you are both snuggled in your bath towels we head to Mommy and Daddy's bed to get your jammies on. Emory loves to help me "massage" your feet with the baby lotion then laughs when we clean your ears and pretend they are soooo dirty! She then heads off to her room for a bedtime story and prayers, but always asks for you to come in so she can kiss you goodnight before she goes to sleep. So sweet!
We headed to your 4-month well check-up and couldn't believe you had grown two inches since your 2-month visit and are now weighing 14 pounds 13 ounces! You are still just a little below the 50th percentile, but compared to your sister, you are huge!
You just began wearing size 2 diapers and are wearing some 3-month and some 6-month clothing...although I've stuck you in a couple of 9-month onesies and they aren't overly big. Yikes!
Because you are a good weight and you are still waking up at least twice during the night to eat, you got the go-ahead to begin eating big boy food. I was hoping to wait a little longer before we started solids so that the transition would be a little easier, but you were clearly starving and I was hoping it might help you sleep through the night.
Your first taste of rice cereal was quite an event. For your big sister at least.
She was so excited to help, she could hardly contain herself.
You, on the other hand, were less than thrilled with the taste.
{It was a miracle you came away without any serious injuries. Emory is no longer allowed around you with a utensil of any sort!}
You were a good sport, and while you weren't loving the taste we've continued to try it each night. Luckily I cooked and pureed two pounds of carrots today, so we'll give those a try tomorrow night. Hopefully you'll like them much more!
The rice cereal didn't do much to curtail your middle-of-the-night feedings, so hopefully sleeping through the night will be your next milestone.
I really can't believe time is flying so fast, but we're doing our best to enjoy each and every moment of your baby stage. Before we know it you'll be a crazy 2 year old, running wild around the house-just like your sister!
Happy four months, Baby Boy!
