Happy Half-Birthday, Em!

{Yes, we celebrate half-birthdays in the Dupree household.}
Today, Emory is officially on her way to three. {Tear}
We started the morning by taking the Half-Birthday Girl to see her first movie!
Everyday for the past week she has asked, "Mommy? I...I...I...I {she stutters a little lately} see pwincess an da fwog a'morrow {tomorrow}?"
She sat through the entire movie without taking her eyes off of the screen.
Baby Boy slept through the entire movie.
It was a fabulous movie and Miss Priss is still asking if she can see it again a'morrow.
And it wouldn't be a half-birthday without a half-birthday cake!
Literally, a half birthday cake.
Blowing out two and a half candles...
And digging in!
A big 'ole bite.
Unfortunately, I tried a new cake recipe today and it turned out to be less than delicious.
Oops.
Thank goodness we'll have a do-over in a couple months for Baby Boy's half-birthday!

I can't believe my sweet girl is well on her way to three years old! That sounds so much older than two. {But I have a feeling I'll say that every year.} While the first half of her two's have been a little trying, the last six months have also been some of the most fun. She never ceases to make me smile. It doesn't hurt that every night when I tell her I love her, she says back "I love you so much mommy!"

Happy Two and a Half, Baby Girl!

Love it! All Jack got for his half-birthday was a half-birthday song! I'm totally going to have to borrow the cake idea! And I love the picture of Em blowing out her candles!!

I am showing my husband this post so he can see I'm not the only one who celebrates half-birthdays! I told him since Olivia's birthday was so close to Christmas, we had to celebrate her half birthday and he just thought I was crazy...but apparently I'm not...or you're just as crazy as me!
