Six Months Old

Happy Half-Birthday Baby Boy!

Six months old. Wow.

These last six months have absolutely gone WAY too fast.

I can hardly believe how much he's grown in the last month!

He's sitting up and loving his new view. He is able to pick up and play with some of his toys. Of course, everything goes into his mouth!

He's wearing mostly 6-month clothing, but a few 12-month things!

While he had his first taste of food at four months, he didn't seem quite ready, so we postponed solids until a couple of weeks ago. He was super excited to finally be eating big boy food and has since tried {and liked!} carrots, peas, yellow squash, broccoli, apples, pears, peaches, strawberries and bananas. A full belly has made for a very happy baby!

He seems to be showing all the signs of teething, except I can't feel a tooth yet. Emory cut her first tooth just after six months, so I'm thinking we will see one anyday now.

Not only is he rolling front-to-back and back-to-front easily, he is scooting all over the place...forward, backward and rotating. He's not quite able to push up on all fours quite yet, but he has just begun pushing his elbows and belly off the ground, so I think it'll be soon.

Sleep has been coming much easier since he's been eating solids. He heads to bed about 9:00pm, and {although sometimes we have to get up to put his paci back in once or twice} he wakes up to eat again at 6:30 or 7:00am and then goes back to sleep until about 8:30 or 9:00am.

We celebrated his first half-birthday on Sunday night at my parents house, complete with his very first half cake!

Emory wanted nothing to do with her cake, at both six months and a year, so it was quite entertaining to see Watson go to town with his little piece of cake. I was worried he ate so much icing he was gonna be sick! Luckily he didn't, but he did get pretty mad when we took it away.

Emory enjoyed herself as well.

He finally stopped smelling like icing after tonight's bath!
He got a new little buddy for his birthday. {Not really. He got this for Christmas, but we hadn't pulled it out yet, so it seemed new!} He loved playing with the penguin and hearing the funny noises it made. Thanks, Grandmama and Granddaddy!

While he loved his new penguin friend and his cake, his favorite birthday gift won't arrive until tomorrow.

Watson can't wait to meet Sweet Baby James, who is scheduled to arrive first thing in the morning.
