I am 35 inches tall {20th percentile} and weigh 24 pounds. The doctor says my weight is so low that it isn’t even on her chart! She doesn’t think there is anything wrong {according to my abundance of energy and spunkiness!}, but told Mommy to start giving me whole milk again, a breakfast supplement and adding some extra fat to my foods when she can.
I can spell my name and recognize “my” letters in other words. I’ve gotten good at counting and can usually count to 25 without skipping more than 1 or 2 numbers. I know all of my colors, and my very favorites are green, pink and purple.
While I never eat much at once, I’m not a picky eater at all! Some of my most favorite foods are blueberries, turkey and cheese sandwiches, yogurt, oatmeal, watermelon, fruit snacks, “beenana” pudding ice cream, and goldfish. I love to get a quesadilla at Zoe’s with Grandmama and chicken nuggets at Chick-Fil-A with Mimi. Of course, I still love to get a chocolate milk with Mommy at Starbucks when she lets me join!
I can entertain myself for hours playing with my toys! I love anything that allows me to pretend. My play kitchen continues to be used every single day. I like to make dinner for everyone when Mommy is cooking. For my birthday I got a shopping cart with even more food to play with! I love my collection of Little Petshop Pets that I keep at Grandmama’s house. {Mommy says there are too many pieces and she won’t let me have them at home!} When I behave, Grandmama lets me pick out a new pet at Target. I’ll enjoy my little plastic pets, as I doubt Mommy and Daddy will ever get me a real pet! I also love my growing collection of Barbies, puzzles, books, baby dolls, blocks, art supplies and board games. Sometimes when my brother is napping, Mommy and I get to play Candy Land!
I’m continuing to learn new words everyday and I say some pretty funny things. If anyone makes a suggestion I like I say, “Dat’s a great idea!”. When I wake up early from my nap and Mommy tells me it’s not time to get up yet, I say, “but it’s awake time! See? It’s sunny outside!” . If we get home after dark, I always love to find the moon, and tell it “goodnight!” before going inside. I’ve just picked up the words realize and actually, and can often be heard talking on my play phone using the phrases, “I just realized…” and “actually, I think…”
I’ve just finished my first 3 weeks of 3 year old preschool. I love it and am up extra early each morning, ready to head to see Ms. Vickie, Ms. Grady {who is actually Ms. Brady, but I know a little boy named Grady and can’t differentiate the names!} and Ms. Liz. On Mondays we go to Spanish and I’ve learned to count to 3. On Tuesdays we go to Music and I am always coming home singing new songs that Ms. Janice taught me. Wednesdays are my favorite…we get to go to Chapel! A minister at the church tells us a Bible story and we sing songs and say prayers. Another reason I love Chapel is that it is upstairs, and I think it’s so neat to get to climb the stairs with my friends. {Mommy thinks this is an odd fascination, seeing as climbing stairs is something I do each and every day at home.} On Thursdays we have Fun & Fit in the gym. We get to run and play games and do obstacles. My favorite is jumping through the hula hoops! While going to school five mornings a week has been exhausting, Mommy is mesmerized by all that I’ve learned in such a short period of time! I love the girls and boys in my new class, but I am always excited to get to see my old friends {Wyatt, Caroline, Adelaide…} on the playground.
I’m excited to start dance classes again in just a couple weeks. This year I’ll be taking ballet again, but also adding tap!! Remember these tap shoes? They were big back then, but now I’ve grown into them and I’m ready to learn how to use them to make lots of noise! I get to watch the bigger girls dance when I’m at the studio with Mommy, so I’ve already picked up a lot of the moves and like to practice at home.
I absolutely love being 3 and have already started talking about turning 4 on July ninef! While Mommy says it seems like just yesterday that I was born, I am so excited to be such a big girl now and to be the boss of, not one, but two siblings in just a few short months!
