Baby Girl started school today!
Last year she was enrolled just two days a week in the Two’s class and was on the younger hall. She cried when we left her the first day and didn’t want to go back for day two.
This year she has graduated to the older hall for Three’s and will be going five days a week! This morning was less of a “don’t leave me” and more of a “you can drop me off right here, Mom. I know what I’m doing.”!She woke up two hours before she had to be at school, and when I asked if she was ready to go downstairs for breakfast, she said “no, I’m ready to put on my whale dress and go to school!”.
We got to school a little early to try and beat the first-day-of-school crowds. She was so anxious to get inside I could barely get her to stand for a picture!
We got to her classroom and hung her bookbag in her cubby. She said “good morning!” to her teachers, Ms. Vickie and Ms. Brady, and quickly found her seat on the carpet with her friends. I had to beg her to come back and give me a kiss goodbye.
Tonight Aaron and I headed to Parents’ Night and got to hear from her teachers what a wonderful first day they had! Emory got to be the “caboose” in line, her class went to spanish today, she got to play on the big playground (a privilege for those on the older hall!) and stay for lunch and nap. She was absolutely exhausted by the time I picked her up, but already asking when she could go back! We’re looking forward to a great school year!!
{Baby Boy is heading to school too, but he’s just enrolled Tuesdays and Thursdays, so he’ll have his first day tomorrow!}

I just looked at the link for last year's post, too-she looks like such a big girl now! Way to go, Em!! You're setting such a great example for baby boy!!
That bookbag is HUGE! Haha :o) I love it! So glad that she enjoyed her first day. This BAD Mommy left her camera at work and didn't get any first day pictures...BOO!!
