Easter Weekend

During our long, relaxing Easter weekend at the beach I mostly stayed put at the kitchen table with my sewing machine. I'm such a loser, I know. But it is very relaxing for me, and I was also able to accomplish lots...from hemming pants, to making a few outfits for Em, to altering some recital costumes for the studio, to making my sister a cute beach cover-up she's been asking me to do. So thank goodness others took lots of pictures for me, so I can see what Emory was up to the whole weekend!
She played outside (yes in her pjs without her hair brushed...at least she has shoes on!) while the crew played "ladder ball". She's no stranger to ice cream, but she enjoyed her first ice cream cone one night after dinner. She was in heaven! She played on the beach...in clothes and then out of clothes. She prefered playing naked. Her future looks bright, eh?
At dinner Saturday night she enjoyed taking self portraits...
...then enjoyed a small sugar coma after digging into chocolate cake for dessert. She quickly livened up again once she saw the foutain. She threw pennies......and even got to put her hand in the water. Who would have thought such a small thing could bring a kid such excitement?!?!
Easter morning was no let down, either. Grandmama helps her go through her basket.
Stickers...

Bubbles... Once she was done with her Easter basket, she moved on to her Easter "bag". Yes, folks, the Easter Bunny must know when a little girl is the ONLY grandchild, and bring her more gifts than she could possibly imagine! Ooooh, a DVD! Now we can watch something other than Beauty and the Beast or the Elmo Potty DVD in the car!!! Yay!
After she opened her stuff, she tried to get into mommy and daddy's Easter basket. Tasting her chocolate bunny...an Easter basket staple! Then trying a lollipop...Trying on her new shoes...Playing with stickers...The Easter Bunny brought her a precious apron and she enjoyed putting things in the front pocket. Especially this little chick that made chirping noises! Making a tower with her wooden beads.

"Shoveling" the chocolate eggs in and out of the baskets.

As much as we love the beach, it was nice to put Emory back in her own bed once we got home. She doesn't seem to sleep well in the same room as Aaron and I, therefore she slept with us every night at the beach...which meant we didn't sleep at all! This weekend she'll get her own room!
