Aaron and I took the kids to the Lights Before Christmas at Riverbanks Zoo.
Wednesday was a great night to go because crowds were light, but we didn't realize how very cold it would be!!
We were able to make it through the entire zoo in about an hour which was the perfect length of time for a 2 year olds attention span...and as much as we could stand of the 40 degree temperatures.
We headed to the indoor exhibits to thaw out a bit.
{Watson stayed nice and warm and sleeping being carried in the wrap!}
Emory watched the bunnies hop in the farm and made fish faces in the aquarium.
Beside the giant Christmas tree was a snow machine and Emory got quite a kick out of standing in the snow.
It's amazing how many more things we've got on our 'Christmas activities' list now that Em is a little older and able to participate. She went 'caroling' through the halls at school with her class. She now recognizes and sings along with a handful of Christmas songs {Jingle Bells, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Away in a Manger} and she's slowly understanding the concept of giving and receiving gifts {although she threw a little fit when we took the gift out from under the tree to give to her ballet teacher...she wanted it for herself!}. She LOVES her little nativity sets and finally remembers that Baby Jesus' parents are Mary and 'Jofef', instead of Wendy and Michael. :) I can't wait to see how she reacts on Christmas morning!
