The Week in Rewind

{Warning: picture overload!}
Last Wednesday Watson and I headed over to West Columbia to meet the newest Staggs-Baby Jack! He was absolutely adorable and his mama looks as if she's adjusting to 2 kiddos quite nicely!
The boys didn't like switching mamas...
...but quickly calmed down once they were returned.
Thursday, we began our Thanksgiving Day by watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and opening our Thanksgiving basket.
Emory and Watson got lots of fun Christmas goodies: books, Christmas pj's...
...a holiday plate, a Barbie Nutcracker DVD and Christmas candy among other things.
Before we headed to Camden for lunch, Watson took his first big boy shower with Daddy.
He hasn't been much of a fan of bath time, but he actually did well in the shower.
After Thanksgiving lunch, we headed to Mimi and Papa's house for dinner.
We played with cousins... Ate another big meal...
And ate chocolate turkey dessert!
Despite the long day, all the kids were in good spirits.
Friday Aaron and I left the babies for a couple of days and headed to Dallas to watch Baylor play in the new Cowboys Stadium.
It's always so much fun to be in Texas, where everything's bigger {the jumbotron in the stadium is the largest TV in the world} and the policemen wear cowboy hats.
While the Bears were playing a good game, I wasn't so much into watching it-instead I drank wine {in Cowboys wine glasses, of course} and hung out with humongous Baylor basketball players!
We flew back into Columbia early Sunday morning and made it to the tree lot Sunday afternoon to pick out our Christmas tree.
Emory had to stop and listen every time she heard the machine that wraps the trees.
Our family...so hard to get a good picture of 4 people!
Both babies were loving the official kickoff of Christmas season!
And somehow we came home from the tree lot with-none other than-a pumpkin! So strange.
Monday night Daddy had to get the lights on the tree and Emory had an early bedtime since it was a school night, so we waited until Tuesday to decorate the tree. We made hot chocolate and Emory got to hang the first ornament. She was mesmerized by the lights and the decorations, but I just know there will be a handful of broken ornaments by the time Christmas is over!
And of course we set up our nativity. Last year she enjoyed playing with the pieces, but this year she's learning the story of Christmas and really understanding who all of the characters are.
This morning Emory got a visit from her Elf for the first time! He visits during the day and returns to Santa each night to let him know if Emory has behaved. This morning he was sitting in the fruit bowl when we came down for breakfast. While she can't touch the Elf {that makes him lose his magic!}, she did tell him what she wanted Santa to bring her so he could relay the information..."a robot, presents, toys and a hippo."
Should be interesting to see if Santa brings those! :)
While we're only a couple of days into the Christmas season, it's been amazing to see Christmas through Emory's eyes this year. Not only does she have a creative wish list, she thinks Baby Jesus' parents are Wendy and Michael (from Peter Pan) and that Christmas is the celebration Granddaddy's birthday.
Most of the Christmas shopping is done, and we look forward to lots of fun Christmas activities in the coming weeks!
{Whew! That was a long one. Now we're caught up!}

So cute. I love the picture of Em listening to the trees. Got the Christmas card yesterday - it was beautiful!

I was feeling like I needed to be caught up on all things Dupree, and you did a great job! I'm glad you had a great Thanksgiving and had fun in Dallas!

Love all of it! Gracie does not understand her elf at all. Everytime she sees it she just yells "Ellllf" at the top of her lungs and runs away...maybe next year :o) We will be in town this weekend, so I will give you a call!
