Kaitlyn’s Birthday

Kaitlyn, a friend from school, invited Emory to her cowgirl-themed 4th birthday party at Country Adventures. I had been hearing great things about this farm from a lot of other moms, so I was excited when Emory got the invitation in the mail!

We arrived at the party and all of the kids were enjoying pony rides {which Emory was terrified of, so she didn’t partake}, and looking at the horses in the barn.

Then everyone headed down to see the rest of the animals in the petting zoo. There were tons of animals: turkeys, horses, donkeys, rabbits, chickens, sheep…and some were even out of  cages just roaming free!01 The kids loved it and ran from one animal to the next, hopping up on the fence and ‘ooh’ing and ‘aah’ing at each stop.02 03 After the petting zoo, we loaded up on the big trailer and went for a hayride around the property.

{Side note: It was a bitersweet moment when we all climbed into the trailer and she refused to sit with me, but instead wanted to go up front to sit with all of her friends. She has always been just a little shy in a big group setting, and she’s finally getting comfortable enough with her friends in settings outside of school that the shyness is all but gone! My little girl is most definitely growing up too fast!}04 The hayride took us to the eating area by the lake where the kids got hotdogs. Of course, there was far too much talking and giggling for Emory to actually eat her hotdog.05  Everyone sang ‘Happy Birthday’ and had some cake…08Then gathered around the campfire to roast marshmallows.07  Emory was a little nervous to try and roast her marshmallow, but Sydney wasn’t, and even had a funny little dance she did while roasting!09 Caroline was a pro.10

Thanks, Kaitlyn, for having us at such a fun party! Happy 4th birthday!06
