When I found out I would be induced Friday, November 12th {if I didn’t go into labor before then}, I tried to squeeze in a few last minute errands that I knew would be a little difficult to do when the baby first arrived.
Today’s errand: haircuts.
Emory had been talking about going to see Ms. Kelly again for a while and was actually excited. Watson was due for his first trim, and I was fairly nervous about how he would act.
Emory jumped up in the seat first, telling Ms. Kelly “I need a haircut for when the new baby gets here! But just a little haircut, not a lot.” She sat perfectly still and followed all of Ms. Kelly’s instructions.
Baby Boy sat patiently while he waited for his turn.
As she was finishing up, Ms. Kelly asked Emory how she wanted her hair fixed. She was excited to choose a hairstyle, seeing as she doesn’t get much choice at home.
Her choice…pigtails!
She got two little pigtails, complete with curling iron-ed ringlets and little white bows!
Next up, Baby Boy’s turn!
I was sad at the possibility of losing those precious curls at the nape of his neck, but his ‘do was getting way too mullet-ish.
He sat in the big boy seat {sans booster, but armed with a bowl of goldfish} and sat perfectly still for the most part!
There were a few, “Mom, what is this lady doing?” looks…
…but overall he was a champ! Thanks, in most part, to the goldfish.
Ms. Kelly worked her magic quick, and in no time at all, Baby Boy’s first haircut had come and gone.
My baby boy was instantly not so much a baby anymore {tear}, but a toddler! With a cute little haircut.
One last stop…the fingernail polish table. She begged for dark green nail polish, and we somehow convinced her to go with pink instead.
New haircuts, pig tails and pink nails…we were all happy campers.
