Emory ran into our room this morning yelling, “it’s snowin’ outside! I can go outside and play in it cause I’m not sick anymore!”. Sure enough, we had good couple of inches on the ground and plenty more falling.
After breakfast we did our best to bundle everyone, although we are definitely not prepared for cold, snowy weather around here! Watson had quite a time trying to walk in it and spent most of the time sitting in the snow. Emory was so excited to “fro fro balls”. Translation: throw snow balls.
After about 7 minutes, everyone was complaining of cold fingers.
We made a decent attempt at building a snowman, but failed miserably and talked Emory into making a christmas tree of snow instead. We decorated it with leaves for ornaments.
Emory was a little confused as to why it was so hard to run.
And Watson was just confused in general. But happy nonetheless.
We drew our names in the snow then retreated to warmth in the way of a pallet of pillows and blankets in the den floor.
Since we couldn’t make a real snowman outside, we got a bag of marshmallows and some toothpicks and made even tastier ones inside.
With an impending move, it’s a little bittersweet having ‘once in a blue moon’ days like this, that will most likely be the last in this house. Sure, we’re dying to get settled into our next house, but it’s most definitely making me a little nostalgic about the only house we’ve known since we’ve had kids.
Happy snow day! Now I’m ready for spring!
