With the weather getting warmer, we decided to pack a picnic and spend the morning at the zoo. We took a quick loop around the ‘normal’ animal exhibits and stopped to spend a little more time doing things we don’t usually do during our usual zoo visits.
At the farm, Emory and Daddy took a ride on the train. Watson watched and ‘choo-choo’-ed the whole time. I could tell he was jealous!
Boland sat quietly in the stroller…and it seems like it was yesterday that Watson was doing the same. Hard to believe that in no time he’ll be facing front looking at the animals too!
We played a while on the lizard {??}.
Where the kids fought {which they do a lot of lately!} over who got to sit where.
We also made a stop at the carousel. Emory tends to be scared of anything you ride on, but wanted to try it today. She begged to ride the ‘peacock’ which is the bench on the carousel and I refused to pay two whole safari bucks for her to sit on a spinning bench and made her get on an animal. She picked the giraffe {that doesn’t even go up and down}, but wasn’t happy about it.
The ride started and she wanted off at first, but after a few seconds, realized it was actually fun!
Watson enjoyed finding me each time he went around and waved…and waved…and waved…
We had a wonderful morning at the zoo and especially enjoyed having Daddy join us for a usually-during-the-week activity!

Olivia only wants to ride on the peacock also. I cannot get her on the animals, she freaks out if I try to put her on them.
