{Alternately titled: WAY TOO MANY PICTURES}
Between Emory being sick for a few days, a couple days of snow, a couple days of rain and heading to Atlanta for New Years, the kids haven’t had a chance to test out their jeep! Well after church today the rain stopped and it warmed up a good bit. Perfect weather to play outside a little before naps!
The kids waited anxiously as Daddy popped the hood and put in the battery. And we buckled in.
Then we were off!
Emory got the hang of pushing the pedal, but couldn’t figure out how to turn the wheel at the same time.
Watson tried to help her steer.
So it went like this. Emory drives straight ahead until she almost hits the shed/a tree/Daddy/etc, then yells “I’m gonna crash!”. Then Daddy switches it to reverse and she backs up a little. Daddy turns her wheel, she drives in another direction until she almost hits the next object and yells “I’m gonna crash!” again. Repeat approximately 184 times.
They both LOVED it, even though Watson refuses to crack a smile.
{And please look at his arm. He was totally just chillin’. Going for a Sunday drive. Cruisin’ the strip. All with his little arm on the back of the seat. So freakin’ cute.}
Then Daddy got a little silly trying to create roadblocks.
Emory clearly needs some practice keeping her hands on the wheel. And we finally got a smile out of Watson!
Then it was Watson’s turn.
Seeing him drive this thing {not that he actually drove. Emory pressed the pedal while Watson just steered.} makes me super nervous about raising boys. They seems so reckless and uninhibited! Emory NEVER would have gotten on this at 15months!
And Emory was just as excited to ride as a passenger as she was to drive.
After a good long while on the jeep, they got out and ran off some energy.
I think this may be his first time really playing in the yard since he’s been able to walk. And he loved roaming free!
I foresee lots of backyard time as the weather starts to warm up!
Santa brought Watson a tee ball set just like Emory’s so we pulled that out to try as well.
He mostly wanted to swat the ball off the tee with his hand, but Daddy tried to give him a little lesson in swinging. Can I just say I am SO READY for his first little tee ball game?!?!?!?
We finished our backyard time with what started out as a family baseball game, but the kids lost interest and it turned into Aaron and I playing by ourselves. Yes, I had to channel my 3rd grade softball {lack of} talent , and it wasn’t pretty, but it was lots of fun!
I’m looking forward to the Spring when we can light the grill, pull out the yard toys and spend more time outdoors!
{sorry for the crazy amount of pictures, but I couldn’t pick my favorites. I loved them all!}
