Long gone is my Baby Boy. He’s now a running, jumping, talking, climbing, ALL BOY toddler.
While he was quick to walk, he’s been slow to talk much. He’s got a few words sounds that he uses often…“pa-ci”, “lolly” {lovey}, “BoBo” {Boland}, “bye-bye”, “uck” {truck}, “mi-yulk”, “cacka” {cracker}, “I ha {have} one!”… but mostly we hear “CHOO CHOO!”. The kid LOVES trains. Which means this face is what we see most often. He has also grown to absolutely love books. He has a set of mini books, each one about a different kind of transportation, and he is usually carrying one of the twelve in his hands at all times.
I’m amazed at the innate ability in boys to know the difference between vehicles that “honk”, “vroom”, “beep”, “choo-choo”…
His most favorite place to play is on his sister’s bed. Most nights, after their bath, Aaron let’s the kids jump on the bed, and it may just be their most favorite thing ever. But his second most favorite place to play is at his train table.
Grandmama and Granddaddy gave it to him for Christmas, knowing that both boys would get lots of use out of it as they got older. I had no idea how much Watson would love it right away.
When he’s ready to play at the train table, he’ll ask us “my choo-choo?” and point to his room.
I’m baffled at the speed at which his last six months have flown by. In the chaos of becoming a big brother, he magically turned into a toddler, and while I hate losing the babyness, it is so much fun to see him playing with his sister and starting to communicate.
He is most definitely still our “serious” one, and we often call him Stonewall Watson or The Judge {Boland, who laughs constantly is The Jester}, but every now and then he shows us his cute grin!
For all of the constant chasing and scolding and telling him “no!”, he may just be the most loving kid ever. He came along and totally changed the dynamic of our family, and we wouldn’t trade him {and his big brown eyes} for the world!
Happy 18 months Watson!

Watson is truly an adorable love-bug, and those huge brown eyes are beautiful. Just by the pictures of him, you can see he is all Boy! I love the picture of him looking at the book, with the serious expression in his eyebrows, but then that smile of his warms the heart! So expressive and such a beautiful child (as are his sister and brother also). Happy 18 months Watson!
Sending Hugs!
