Boland’s First Beach Trip

Our baby{est} boy took his first trip to the beach! He’s much younger than Emory was when she went to the beach for the first {real} time, and only a couple of months younger than Watson was on his first trip, but not being able to sit up kinda puts a damper on the milestone! Just getting suited up and sunscreened tired him out and he napped the first little while we were on the beach.Watson ran around like he owned the place. Digging up small holes every third step. And playing golf with the sand shovel.  Emory only every wants to fill the big bucket with water, fill the little watering can with water and ‘water’ the sand. For the first time in a while we had the entire family with us…plus some!

Aunt Boo and soon-to-be Uncle Alex And Aunt Kat with another soon-to-be uncle, John! Yes, we’re planning another 2012 wedding for these two and we’re beyond excited! Congratulations Will and Kate!  :){Of course, Grandmamma, Granddaddy and Aunt Jo were there too, just didn’t seem to get pictures. Oops!}

And then little Boland woke up so it was time for his first dip in the ocean! He’s as cute as can be, but this kid sure needs a tan! And a diet. Can we say Pillsbury Dough Boy? The water was COLD, but I was surprised that he didn’t seem to mind… Until about 10 seconds in. And then he DID NOT LIKE IT! But we kept him there and laughed and snapped pictures for a little longer. Sorry buddy! But Daddy rescued him shortly after and he was just fine and back to his smiley self. And I feel like I’m betraying my already-feels-forgotten middle child, but I love this picture. Can someone help me photoshop him in? We had a wonderful first beach trip of the summer and look forward to many a lazy day {although not lazy at all with 3 little ones} enjoying the sand and sun!
