Easter Morning

We’re always worried that the Easter Bunny won’t find us at the beach, and, as always, the kids are pleasantly surprised when they wake up to a basket overflowing with goodies! Actually I’m a horrible mother and forgot to order Boland’s Easter basket. Luckily that kind bunny still remembered him!IMG_9081

Emory was excited to find the movie Bambi in her basket, as well as some books, a digital camera, a Barbie car, dress-up accessories, a new dress, princess bandaids, fingernail polish…lots of fun things!

Boland was excited to have gotten his big boy carseat! He also got some jammies.imageWatson, of course, went straight to the trains in his basket. He also got a remote control car, some jammies, a toy dinosaur, some new clothes, a book about a raccoon named Watson {and the talking stuffed animal Watson!} and Car bandaids. image

And the Easter Bunny didn’t forgot the chocolate bunnies, either! Emory wanted nothing to do with hers, but Watson was quite excited to dig in. I expected as much after last year’s chocolate bunny experience!image

And I was peer-pressured into letting Boland taste his bunny.image

He wasn’t disappointed.IMG_9133

Then it was time for our {white trash, in your pajamas} egg hunt. Emory left the eggs out for the Easter Bunny and requested he hide them for her. He must have been in quite a rush, because the eggs were not very hidden, but it made for a quick and easy hunt. IMG_9142

But then she came back along and correctly divided the eggs according to the rules of her 3 year old self…pink eggs in the girl basket, blue in the boy’s. IMG_9156

We always spend way too much time sifting through the kids’ baskets, sipping on coffee and eating candy on Easter morning, which makes us late for church every year. Luckily our un-showered selves don’t stand out too much amongst the ‘jort’-wearing, sunburned churchgoers at the beach.

Nonetheless, it was a happy, fun-filled, family-filled, Spirit-filled Easter!
