After the candy store (yet another nutricious snack/meal for the day) we headed to dinner. PF Chang's. Yum. After our meal, we ordered dessert. When they brought it out, Emory got her very own teeny tiny dessert with a candle and we sang Happy Birthday to her.

It was all she could do to stay awake, so I was curious as to how she would handle the attention. She got so embarassed and buried her head against me.

She refused to blow out the candle, but when she got her little spoon and realized the dessert (Smores cake) was all hers, she perked right up and went to town!

Her energy was renewed instantly...can you tell?

And, for once, she got to eat without her "biv" (bib), which she doesn't enjoy wearing.
That led to massive amounts of chocolate on her dress, which, according to her, has "pancakes" on it, instead of cupcakes. :)

She made sure to get every. single. bit. out of that glass.

Doesn't she look happy? I was equally as happy after eating the overly large piece of chocolate cake I ordered. In fact everyone at the table made fun of me for eating so much of it. I get weighed again at the doctor on Monday...wish me luck!

Family pictures are few and far between, so the ones we get are almost never good. Including this one. But years from now, I'd like to look back and know that we were indeed all present and having fun on Em's big night...although mommy wasn't exactly looking stellar. I'll blame it on the 4 pounds of chocolate cake I had just inhaled.

Overall, I think Baby Girl had a marvelous birthday, complete with LOTS of sugar and LOTS of hugs and kisses from everyone, most especially me. Somehow, just knowing she's "2" makes her seem so much older than she was yesterday. I mean, she slid down the slide tonight for the first time! She certainly wouldn't have done that by herself yesterday! :) I know I'm totally ridiculous, but I'm trying my hardest to savor each and every second of her "babyness" because I know it will seem to be gone in a flash.
How do you think I'll handle her starting school in a month? Don't answer that. Or if you do, at least plan on bringing me chocolates and tissues that first week!
