First Day of Tap {and Acrobatics}

I have seen very few things get Emory more excited than her first day of tap and acrobatics.

I woke up to her calling me from her bed. “Mommy! Mommy! MOMMY!”

I rushed into her room thinking she might have wet the bed. As soon as she saw me she said {still half-asleep}, “I ready to go to tap and aterbatics now”.

The same day was also the first day she got to have a friend come home from school! Each Thursday her little friend, Sydney, is going to come home from school with us, eat lunch, “rest” and go to dance with Emory.

Both girls were equally as anxious to get to tap and wanted to put on their leotards as soon as we got home from school!

Hours later, when it really was time for dance, we dressed and headed to the studio. They tried to show me a little bit of what they already knew how to do. {Emory was clearly getting her ballet and tap mixed up!}IMG_4088 Mostly they just loved that their shoes made lots of noise.IMG_4091 IMG_4093 The other girls started arriving and Em and Sydney were quickly joined by their friend Rosie, who was in their ballet class last year. IMG_4098 The girls got lined up at the bar, each in their own “heart” to mark their space and Mommy got kicked out so that they could start class. IMG_4101

Her acrobatics class immediately followed the tap class so I wasn’t able to go back in and take pictures. I did get to peek in through the viewing window and she seemed to be having a blast. We had a wonderful first week of dance classes and look forward to a great year!
