Happy Birthday Daddy!

Happy birthday to my wonderful husband!

Daddy’s birthday always seems to get looked over this time of the year. Our anniversary is celebrated the week before. It’s the beginning of football season, the dance year and the school year. Very often it falls on the weekend of Labor Day. Last year I was two weeks away from giving birth, and this year we’re only a couple of months from meeting our newest family member. So this year we tried to make it special. And by special I mean in the eyes of my 3 year old party planner who insisted Daddy wanted a Mickey Mouse party!

We made plans to take Daddy to dinner at a Japanese Hibachi restaurant {“Where they make fire and Mickey rice!”-Emory}. Mimi and Papa joined us and we had a blast!

Emory decided what color party hat each person should wear, and we cut out Mickey faces to glue onto each one. {We tried to buy a few store-bought party things and it is IMPOSSIBLE to find plain ‘ole Mickey stuff anywhere!}Starred Photos231Emory gobbled up her soup.IMG_4058As excited as she was about them making fire, it still scared the youknowwhat out of her.Starred Photos232 But the Mickey rice cheered her right back up!IMG_4071 We brought a Mickey cake to surprise Daddy with! Again, Mickey stuff is hard to find all the sudden, and a cake was no exception. We ordered a plain red cake from Publix and Emory and I made some decorations to put on top. {Just so you know, paper pennants will burn if they are right above the lit candles. Oops!}IMG_4072

It is absolutely hilarious what parents will do to entertain their kids. We did not wear our Mickey party hats the whole time{except for Emory}, but happily took a picture in them, which made Baby Girl so happy. scan0001 She’s taken the whole themed-birthday-parties thing and run with it. She is already planning a Minnie party for Mommy’s birthday, a princess party for her next birthday and a pirate party for Baby Watson’s 2nd birthday!

Might she be the next Mindy Weiss?? We’ll see!

Daddy, we hope you loved your incredibly silly Mickey birthday dinner and know how much we love you!

Happy Birthday!
