Tailgating

This week’s Baylor/TCU football game was televised, and the kids and I didn’t want to subject ourselves to Aaron’s game day intensity {which was a good thing since the Bears played horribly and lost}, so we headed down to Williams-Brice to do a little tailgating.

I thought for sure Baby Girl would spend the entire time on the dance floor, showing everyone her moves, but it turns out that the only thing the kids wanted to do was play with the ice in the cooler.

Baby Girl enjoyed eating the ice…Starred Photos254And of course Baby Boy tried to copy.Starred Photos255 {I think this might be our first big boy, two-piece outfit and he looks so old in it!}IMG_4299 {And his new kicks {his very first pair of shoes were purchased the morning of the game!} don’t help him look any younger!}IMG_4301 Baby Boy dropped his paci, and being the good big sis she is, Emory washed it for him {in the cooler}…IMG_4304And gave it back. Now that he’s one, we’re working on not having the paci outside of the crib. Tough stuff.IMG_4303 Trying for a sibling picture. Always a failure.Starred Photos256 Hiding from the camera…IMG_4318 Then Baby Boy spots a rock…IMG_4320 Which, apparently, looks very similar to a piece of ice, so he picked it up, and thinking he was being helpful, put it in the cooler! He is All Boy.Starred Photos257And I feel the need to explain that while I don’t usually let Emory go out dressed in tops that show her midriff, we’re sorta between sizes in the ‘cheerleading uniform’ department. Her poor little waist fits into her 18 month uniform, but that means the top is way too short. And the size that fits her on top, doesn’t come close to fitting her in the waist. So I told her she was gonna dress like the real cheerleaders and let her belly show. She loved that!IMG_4327    We had a fun {although hot and sweaty!} time at tailgate, but the two hours we were there were plenty long enough and we piled back in the car to head home while everyone else headed into the stadium. Poor Emory was devastated she didn’t get to go in to watch the football game with Granddaddy, so she’s hoping she and Daddy will get to head back for the full experience a little later in the season.IMG_0188

But all is well that ends well. We picked up Daddy, then headed out for pizza and ice cream while the Gamecocks beat Furman, taking home another win!

One of my favorite blogs yet. They look so cute in their outfits! I love, love, love the big boy shoes. Is he ready to be a big brother, or what?!
