Emory and I joined Aunt Kat for a fun afternoon of holiday baking! We knew Emory would be helping out so we picked a handful of simple recipes to make. Emory was most excited about wearing an apron!
We started out by making reindeer cookies. She stirred the batter, unaware that I was taking a picture…
And this is what happens when she spots me with the camera…POSE! What a ham!
And while the first batch bakes, she starts getting distracted by Aunt Kat’s baking cups, which we could no long use after Emory’s hands had touched each and every one.
And our first cookie, topped with chocolate covered pretzels and m&ms, is a cute success!
After the first set of cookies, Emory was ready to move on to the next activity, so Kat and I were left to bake ourselves, with the occasional assistance of my sweet boy who can smell food a mile away.
Other than forgetting about the sugar cookie dough that was chilling in the fridge, Bake Day 2010 was a great success! Again, nothing gourmet this year, but yummy nonetheless.
Thanks, Aunt Kat, for baking with us! And thanks to Aunt Boo and John for so kindly taste-testing!
