The four different three’s classes at Emory’s school host an Advent Festival where in each classroom you read a book about the Christmas story and do a related craft.
As I’ve thought and said a thousand times already, I’m amazed at what these three year olds have learned this year! All of the teachers would read their book, pausing to let the children fill in the details of the story…or ask them questions about the story of Jesus’ birth, and it was incredible to hear hear their cute {and accurate!} little answers!
They decorated crowns because Jesus was the King of Kings.
In one classroom they decorated star cookies, because the 3 Wise Men followed the star of Bethlehem to visit baby Jesus.
They also made nativities {because Jesus was born in a stable} and angel magnets {because the angel appeared to Mary to announce she would birth a child whose name would be Jesus}.
While it’s fun to see Emory excited about Santa and the giving and receiving of gifts, its so sweet to listen to the excitement these little ones have about the true meaning of Christmas!
