Christmas Day

After looking at what Santa brought, we headed over to Grandmamma and Granddaddy’s house for more gifts!

I wasn’t very involved in helping my mom shop for the kids this year, so it was a fun surprise for me as well!

The kids were spoiled rotten {as always}, but there were some definite favorites. Watson loved his ride-on toy {I have no idea what these are called, but it’s a ‘Kawasaki’ something…a four-wheeler maybe?} and didn’t get off of it long enough to open any other toys, until…image …he got a grill {hotdog and hamburger included!}, just his size! My sweet boy loves to play in his sister’s play kitchen, so this will be great for him to have his own little cooking station…just like daddy’s!image Emory dug into her gifts so fast that I wasn’t able to even see what she got until we brought things home and sorted through them. Just as she loves, she got lots of puzzles, dress-ups, a new pair of Uggs {black, like mommy's!}, lots of princess stuff and a toy horse that she has been wanting ever since Callie got one for her birthday.IMG_6889 After presents and breakfast, we made our way to Camden to visit with my mom’s side of the family. Watson was definitely enjoying his time with cousins…IMG_6903image But Emory was feeling worse and kept mostly to herself sitting on Aunt Boo’s lap or playing some Christmas music at the piano with Aunt Rhonda.IMG_6935 IMG_6936 image As everyone else headed to the lake, we headed to Mimi and Papa’s for Christmas lunch. Emory was barely hanging on and watched a movie on the couch while we ate. Of course, she perked up a little when it came time to open the next round of gifts!

She opened her Madame Alexander doll and a princess bath toy.IMG_6955 Watson got a Fisher Price Farm and waited very patiently for Ali and Nate to open it for him!image Emory opened Boland’s gift-a lovey just for him!-and then let him feel how soft it was!image And the ‘gift adrenaline’ wore off and my sick girl was out again. image Watson had to take over the duties of putting the nativity on the birthday cake for Jesus. But instead of setting them on the cake, he would dip them in the icing and bring it back up to lick! Thank goodness it was just family eating, because Baby Boy’s germs were all over that cake!image We sang ‘Happy Birthday’, had some cake, said our goodbyes, then took our tired little family home.IMG_7017 IMG_7024

We put the kids down for a couple of hours of sleep while Aaron and I tried to put away some of the Christmas loot. Then we got the kids back up to head to my parents’ house again for Christmas dinner with my dad’s side of the family.

We had a wonderful day with all of our families, and while it made for a very long and tiring day, we are thankful to be able to be with them all on Christmas Day.

We hope Santa was good to each and every one of you as well!
