Thank goodness for last week’s discovery of camera apps, because I’ve had to rely on my phone for all pictures this week.
The first day on the beach I grabbed my camera and realized the battery was dead. Oops, I must have forgotten to charge it. So I plug it up, then put it back in. Still no charge. I call the camera store, she says it must be the battery charger. I overnight a new charger to the beach house. It comes in, I charge the batteries. The camera still won’t turn on! I’m pretty much feeling like I lost my right arm. And all my ‘rainy day’ savings, because not buying a replacement isn’t an option. Just trying to decide what to buy and how I can get it the fastest.
That being said, I’ve had to use my phone’s camera lots this week, and here’s what we’ve been up to…
We paid a little visit to Ms. Kelly for that chop I was trying to avoid. He always looks so handsome after a haircut, even if they did trim his bangs a little more than I’d like. Emory loves to play dress up. She’s discovering that it’s just as fun to see how many accessories she can adorn her littlest brother with.
Emory and Watson are constantly fighting over who gets to play in the laundry basket. On the rare occasion that I can catch up on our huge mountains of laundry, they can each have one! They turned out to be perfect little reading nooks.
We’re working hard on learning to brush our teeth, not chew on the toothbrush. Watson constantly tells us Mama help or Gahddy help, which actually means ‘don’t help!’.
We spent our first day at the beach with just our little family. No grandparents, aunts, friends. I’m not sure that’s ever happened before. It was fun, but we missed the heck out of our normal beach crew!!
The tide schedule has been perfect this week and Aaron has been able to dig big pools for the kids each day {without them being covered by the incoming tides} and Watson loved sailing his boat.
It took a few times, but this littlest one is an official beach bum! He can sit and play in the surf for hours and loves it.
Our friends arrived Tuesday night and we took Jack down to see the ocean before dinner. Turns out 3 year olds don’t understand the concept of looking at the water but not getting in!
We took the kids to ride a few things at Broadway at the Beach. When the Pavillion Amusement Park closed a few years ago, they moved several of the kiddie rides {which I rode as a kid!} to Broadway and it’s fun to see my kids now enjoying them.
The kids enjoyed lots of popsicles, and one night were serenaded by Uncle Bryan during popsicle time!
Taking Watson to the allergist is on our short term to-do list as this is happening all too often. The littlest bite turns into a swollen, Benadryl-requiring ordeal. Poor thing!
A week at the beach has left us absolutely exhausted. It’s been a blast, but you know we’ve run everyone ragged when Emory tells me {at 7:30 nonetheless!} Mama, I’m ready for bed now. We’ve been spending long hours on the beach and equally as long hours napping in the afternoons!
There you go. Our week in a nutshell.

Today I tried to charge my iPhone on the wall charger and it didn't work, then tried the car charger and it didn't work. Thinking I needed a new one, I plugged it in the computer to sync with iTunes so I wouldn't lose anything and it started charging on my computer but won't charge anywhere else. Maybe you'll get as lucky with your camera and it will charge on your computer?
Great photo of your littles reading in the laundry baskets, so cute!
Love the shot of all the shoes and your littlest little's feet at the beach.
Popped over from InstaFriday. :)
Aw I love these -- I've found it a lot easier to stay on top of the "blogging" when doing it from my phone. Your kiddies are getting so big and adorable - I know you're having so much fun :)
