We baptized Boland amidst our closest family and friends, and it was a sweet sweet day in the life of our sweet sweet boy.Ms. Ashleigh, Mr. Ray and Jack traveled all the way from Texas to be with us on such a special day.
{Apparently there was some unspoken agreement to dress all of the kids in white and blue. I loved how they all coordinated!}
During the ceremony Boland did wonderfully! In fact, he kinda enjoyed being in the spotlight, and grinned every time Monsignor Harris talked to him!
We are blessed to have Aunt Jo and Mr. Ray as Boland’s godparents and were thankful to have them stand by us on his Baptism day.
For the actual pouring of the holy water, I ordered a sweet bowl that was personalized with Boland’s name and Baptism date. It was used during the ceremony, and now serves as a memento of the day as it is displayed in his room.
We took the obligatory family pictures with our families…
…then headed back home to party!
My mom helped me with the food and we ended up with much more than we could ever eat, but it was delicious!
We had petit fours, candy cross lollipops, sugar cookies, fruit skewers, pimento cheese and pita chips, hot cheese loaf and veggies, but the favorite of the day was by far the plum and champagne cocktails we served! We planned on serving bellinis, but at the last minute found the plum recipe and decided to try it. They were delicious!
The kids enjoyed the sweets mostly.
And playing in Emory’s room. Even the boys.
It was a fabulous day and we were so lucky to have so many wonderful people share in the dedication of our sweet baby boy to the Church!
