this week {from my phone}

This week we were CRAZY busy. I’m so happy the week is over, but it just occurred to me my baby girl’s birthday is in two weeks and I have yet to plan a single thing for her party. So I’m sure these next couple of weeks will be terribly chaotic as well. Oh well. Such is life, I guess.

Without further ado, our week.

It was a bittersweet last day at the beach. We were exhausted beyond belief, and couldn’t wait to get home, but our week at the beach was nothing short of fabulous and we hated to see it come to an end. Em picked out her pink ‘tutu’ bathing suit  and told me, ‘Mama, I’m gonna wear this one for my beach recital, k?’.IMG_1198Watson stole Jack’s alligator and couldn’t stop chanting, ‘aya-gator, aya-gator, chomp, chomp, chomp!’ {which is the song we sing while I cut their nails}.IMG_1224One of Emory’s most favorite parts of going to the beach is getting to rinse off in the outdoor shower. Gotta love cheap thrills.IMG_1230My mom, sisters and I headed to look at wedding dresses with Aunt Kat! I wore {and Aunt Boo is gonna wear} my mom’s wedding dress, so this was a fun first for us all! She found ‘the dress’ and it looked beautiful! Makes the big day seem even closer now!IMG_1232Boland was the only boy that got to join us and I think he enjoyed being doted on by all the women. Especially his Aunt Jo. IMG_1233Instead of washing the 84,000 loads of dirty laundry we unpacked from the beach, I felt the need to make an equal amount of cross sugar cookies for Boland’s Baptism. If I never see another sugar cookie again, I’ll be fine. It kinda seemed wrong to being shouting curse words while decorating crosses.IMG_1234The morning after the Baptism, my sweet boy was still exhausted from his big day. He couldn’t keep his big blue eyes open!IMG_1252Emory and I have spent our mornings at dance camp all week, so we’ve enjoyed play time with the boys after naps. One afternoon Watson ‘choo-choo’ed non-stop for approximately 45 minutes. It went from ‘cute’ to ‘very annoying’ at about minute 4. IMG_1265Aunt Jo always likes to give the funny little gift, and she found a good one in this full-body baby bib she bought Watson when he was little. Boland got to sport it for the first time. It looks silly, but it’s actually very useful. IMG_1266We met Rosie and Eliza to swim one afternoon. We all had a fabulous time just lounging in the water. My kids aren’t overly ambitious in the water, so mostly they played on the steps, which meant I could {somewhat} enjoy myself without having to hold three kids at once. We stopped for a popsicle break, and I think there is NOTHING cuter than sweet kiddos enjoying popsicles!IMG_1267

I finally decided to take a stab at those mountains of dirty clothes {almost a week later} and thank goodness for good help. When she saw me walk in the room with a laundry basket of clean clothes, she said, ‘Mama, can I laundry with you?’. And she did! She’s slowly catching on to how to fold each type of clothing and it really is a huge help! IMG_1276

To {almost} cap off the week, Aaron and I headed to the Keith Urban concert with my parents, Kat and John, and Boo and Alex.  I went into it having zero idea of what he sang, but turns out I knew more songs than I thought and we had a great time!

But probably not quite a great of a night as Alex, aka Rocky. {Don’t ask.}IMG_1292

And Will and Kate, I mean John and Kat, had fun too! IMG_1296

Have no worries, a new {real} camera has been ordered and it’s on the way, so normal blogging is sure to be in my near future! Until then, Insta-Fridays will have to do!instafridaybutton
