Baby Kubas

Aunt Boo and Uncle Alex just made it to the half-way point in their pregnancy, which means they found out whether we’ll be having a boy cousin or a girl cousin!

Boo wanted something other than the usual cutting of the cake or balloons in a box, so we headed over to my parents’ house to find a piñata in the backyard.  The kids took turns at busting Nemo.IMG_7859IMG_7860IMG_7862

IMG_7864Even naked Boland. Although his hit was more of a tap. imageWatson took another stab at it. {Don’t you love that we had to use a broom?}IMG_7880And Emory did too. IMG_7873

Then Emory suddenly needed a potty break and we had to pause.

Baby Boy was getting fussy and wanted to be held. But being ‘held’ by Daddy…imagemeans flying these days!imageFor a second he hates it…imageAnd then realizes he loves it!IMG_7893With Emory back from her potty break, we decided to turn the bat {well…broom} over to Aunt Jo. IMG_7894

The kids were armed with ziplocs to catch the contents…IMG_7895

And scrambled to do so once poor Nemo was smashed. imageAlong with the toys and candy…imageThe pinata was filled with puzzle pieces.imageSome pieces were blue and some were pink. We started two different puzzles and rushed to see which had enough pieces to complete.imageInitially we thought there were definitely more blue pieces. It’s a Boy! Then we started to think that the pink one was coming together quicker. Maybe it’s a Girl! Finally we figured out the pieces…IMG_7913

And it’s a boy! IMG_7918

We’re excited to meet Baby Boy Kubas {whose name is not being revealed quite yet} come November!
