With it being both Memorial Day weekend and the last week of school, our schedule was filled with lots of fun stuff!
Last Friday Emory got to enjoy the 4K Water Day at school…Friday night we took the kids to Members’ Night at the Zoo,thinking it would be a little less crowded than a normal day, but we were WAY wrong! Free popcorn, soft drinks and carousel rides meant there were approximately 84,000 people there and it was somewhat miserable. The kids didn’t seem to notice, but we’ll steer clear of Members’ Night from now on.
Saturday morning we woke up and had a little breakfast on the deck…
{I celebrated the half-way mark of this pregnancy!}…
Then we headed out to get some plants for the yard. Boland loved all of the water fountains…
And the fish planters. Kisses for each of them!
All of the kids enjoyed the carts and spent most of the time crawling in and out and on them.
The big kids made it to the top and pretended to fly like superheroes.
Granddaddy got the kids some treats and while they took a break from the sprinklers, they opened the treats and found some funny glasses inside! {Watson has gotten a kick out of these all week!}
After a long day of yard work, we went for a swim and then came back for dinner on the deck. Since we’re in the midst of potty training, we forced Watson to take a potty break, and he was NOT HAPPY!
But Boland is always happy to give a hug to cheer up his brother. Watson ended up potty-ing and getting his m&m, so he was right back to his happy self.
Monday we headed to the lake to celebrate Memorial Day with the Moores.
{Emory’s new smile. I’m not a fan.}
Watson was counting down the days until we got to go to the ‘flake’ and ride on Mr. Martin’s boat, so he was thrilled. Then he got behind the boat and went tubing for the first time!
While we watched Watson, Daddy and Lyndsay tubing, Ms. Lauri loved on Boland.
Watson seemed to enjoy it, but kept saying ‘I was scared’ once he was back in the boat.
Yet another potty break once we got back to the house.
Tuesday morning we were all dragging a bit after a long day in the sun. We got up and got Emory off to school, then I fed and bathed the boys and Boland fell right back asleep in my bed until I woke him to get Emory from school at noon!
We spent a couple of hours in Target after we got Emory from school as we waited out the rainstorm, and the big kids decided to be ‘Christian Walker and Mrs. Christian Walker’ when we walked by the baseball stuff.
And on our short ride back home, Emory finally crashed from the long day at the lake.
This morning we geared up for one last day of school! We celebrated with a special breakfast of monkey bread!
And Emory gave two thumbs up to the last day of 4K. She’s an official kindergartner after today!!
And there’s our fun week! Next week should be even better as we enjoy our first week of summer!!
