Two Years, Too Cute...

Jotting down a few things I want to remember about this age...

  • At her 2-year check-up, she weighs 21 pounds 9 ounces (3%), she's 32.5 inches (10.25%) and her head is 18.5 inces (50%).

  • She loves to say her prayers at bedtime, always being sure to include most family members, but also always adding something else...most recently "Llama Jama" and "Fancy"...as in the books Llama Llama Red Pajama and Fancy Nancy.

  • We're constantly working on manners and she's gotten pretty good and saying "Thank you much!" after receiving anything.

  • She loves to cook in her play kitchen, while wearing her "cookie hat" and "hand"...cooking hat and oven mit. :)

  • She's a huge fan of most classic Disney movies, and right now her most favorite is Jungle Book and she constantly walks around singing "Bear Necessities" and "You Can Trust in Me".

  • She's not at all a picky eater, but never eats much of anything. She loves breakfast bars, apples, string cheese, yogurt, raisins, cucumbers, pancakes, m&m's and lollipops. We stick to milk and water at home, but she LOVES to get "tocat miyk" at Starbucks and "tea" at McAlisters.

  • She plays very well by herself and rotates through her favorite toys...building with her blocks, playing with her doll house, coloring on her art easel, dressing up (which means putting all of her bracelets on then putting them all in her purse and carrying that around the house) and reading books.

  • She sleeps in her big girl bed with her still-best friend Douglas, as well as Bear and Monkey (which tend to all get shout-outs in her prayers as well!). Potty-training wasn't exactly as successful as transitioning to a big girl bed, so that's going to wait until after the baby comes.

  • We've worked hard on counting and our ABC's. She can count to 13 pretty consistently, and although she doesn't pronounce every letter correctly, she loves to sing her ABC's!

This is such a fun age! Although with her newfound "good" skills, comes a handful of "bad" skills. We've had to sit in time out for hitting a few times and temper tantrums are becoming a little more frequent. All in all, she's quite easy though! She has become, in the last few weeks, VERY attached to me and in the back of my mind I can't help but think she subconsciously knows my attention will soon have to be shared. I'm sure we'll have quite a bit of an adjustment period, but until then I'm soaking up every once of her sweetness!

Amy, don't even stress about the potty training because she will do it when she wants to (I used to hate hearing that but now know it is true). Enjoy these moments! She's adorable!
