Sadly, our summer seems to be flying by, and I’m having a hard time accepting that’s it’s already July. We had a laundry list of fun things to do this summer, and no of them are getting checked off. We’re still managing to have fun, though, and here’s what our past week looked like, via my phone’s camera…
We went to my parents’ house last Friday to watch the Carolina baseball game. The game went into extra innings, and everyone was pooped, but it was worth it in the end, as the Gamecocks won, sending them to the championship series! Watson never ever ever falls asleep outside of his bed or in the car, but he finally gave in and fell asleep during the last inning on Daddy’s lap.Many of the fights between Emory and Watson revolve around who gets to use the iPad, so Watson was excited to wake up and have it all to himself since Emory spent the night at Grandmamma and Granddaddy’s house.
And not only is my sweet Boland the happiest baby around…
…he’s about to be a crawler!! A crawler with funny teeth, but a crawler nonetheless.
Okra is finally in season and I bought a few pounds to pickle. Spicy pickled okra is one of Aaron’s favorite things and we love to make it for him every summer. It’s great when eaten straight out of the jar, but even better in a bloody mary!
We have no shortage of crib party pictures, but this is one of my all time favorites.
And I finally received my new best friend this week! I am absolutely in love with my new camera, and while it’s gonna take a little while to get used the new {and different} features, I’m already so excited about the better picture quality! {We can only hope it makes for better blogging.}
We celebrated a second straight NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP for our USC Gamecocks this week, and as much as we would have loved to see everything firsthand in Omaha, we were at least able to greet the baseball players at the pep rally as they arrived back in Columbia. Is it too early to start training the boys to be baseball stars??
After being up and dressed early for VBS all week, we stayed in our jammies this morning and enjoyed an early playdate with some friends at our house. There’s nothing better than feeling comfortable enough with someone to have them over without showering or putting on makeup!
Post playdate we started getting packed up to head to the lake for the July Fourth weekend. First on our to-do list was making the all important marshmallow pops. Because every holiday deserves a chocolate {and red, white and blue sprinkles} covered marshmallow treat!
Of course my helper had to taste-test.
Wishing you a safe and happy 4th of July weekend!
{to be documented during next week’s InstaFriday, of course!}

Yay for fancy cameras! You'll love it!
Fun pics. Congrats to the Gamecocks. I don't usually watch college baseball, but it was fun to root for teams and, as usual, my teams lost, but it was still fun.
Love the marshmallow pops. They're so cute ~ I'm gonna make some for the 4th too :-)
Thank YOU for the comment. We would so be friends, because you had me at embroidery machine. And your babies are SO cute.
Um, Boland has teeth!?!?! Why are our babies growing up so fast?!
On another note, I talked to Anna Kate about a paper source and a printer, so we have to talk!
I just got a new camera as well, the canon eos 90(?). I've only had it a week but have not had a lot of time to play around and figure mine out. Good luck! BTW... found you through instafriday!
dGetting a new camera is the best! Can't wait to see all your new great photos. And the 'crib party' photo, priceless. Happy 4th!
I have the same lens! I love it! So cool.
Your kiddos are too cute! Emory is getting so big, well they all are but she looks so much older then at Jack's party. :)
