At the Beach…

…we swam in the ocean with Daddy… …and with Granddaddy, Watson and {cousin} Olivia… …we “watered” the sand… …we played with beach balls and dumped sand all over Granddaddy’s leg… …we tried to build sand castles… …we dug big holes on the beach with our cousins from Colorado… …we sat in the surf… …laughed in the surf… …and got knocked over by the surf… …we cried a little… …practiced swimming with our “shovels”… …we caught teeny, tiny fishies with our bare hands… …and collected them in a bucket… …the smaller cousins tried to keep up with the bigger cousins… …we practiced standing and got lots of love from Granddaddy… …we tried to escape from our strollers… …we lounged and sipped on cold beers… …the bartender kept those cool drinks comin’!… …although I believe there were some complaints of sand and shells in the beverages… …we found our very own pools as the tide went out… …and tried to take all of the shells out of our pool… …we got some good man-to-man time with {cousin} Channing… …we sprawled out on the hot, hot sand… …we tasted Daddy’s beer…over and over… …we played some intense games of ladderball… …we dodged waves with Aunt Boo… …we buried each other in the sand…

…we had a wonderful long weekend at the beach, complete with lots of cousins, long morning walks to Starbucks, home cooked meals, trips to the arcade, a couple of summer field trips, lots of baseball watching, late night runs to TCBY and a fantastic day of celebrating the daddies!  We are always completely worn out and ready to be back in our own beds by the end of our beach trips, but it’s only ever a day or two before we’re dying to head back to the salty air and sunshine!
