We made it through one of our busiest weeks of the summer yet-----a week-long dance camp…shuttling Watson from one set of grandparents at the beach to another set on the other side of town…a well check-up for Baby Boy…a play date for Baby Girl…hosting a clothing show…meeting friends out for a date night…traveling to Charleston for a birthday pool party…
By Sunday morning we were drained and, for the first time in months, we slept in instead of going to church. {Emory was absolutely livid, by the way…} We decided to put Emory in the wagon and Watson in the stroller and head to the park.
Emory grabbed her sunglasses, sandals and a juice box. Baby Boy decided to ride in his jammies.
In the 84,000 degree weather, we played like it was a beautiful fall day.
We climbed…
Baby Boy went down the slide for the first time…
Emory found the steering wheel, as she always does…
We enjoyed the cool breeze we made on the swings…
It was exactly what we needed after a long and tiring week. Hanging out. Just the four of us.
In the middle of playing, Aaron looked down at Emory and said to her, “ This is exactly what your mommy dreamed of way back in ninth grade!”
Even though he was {and always is} making fun of me, it was so true.
I couldn’t be more thankful for what God has provided for me in the way of a husband and children.
Things aren’t always easy. The sudden twists and turns our lives take don’t always make sense. And while I trust that God, even through the hard times, has great plans for myself and my family, I am so thankful for days like this where it feels like He is blessing us with nothing less than a perfect day. When it does feel easy and everything does make sense.
Definitely a lazy Sunday to be remembered.

Those photos are so sweet. And, I'm with you. I have two little ones and though it's not always easy (okay, far from it!) it's such a blessing!!! Have a good day!
I totally had a romper like Em's when I was little! I love it! Looks like a perfect morning in the park!
