Nine Months Old

Baby Boy- welcome to your tenth month {one day late}! You are now 3/4 of the way through your first year! {Last month I incorrectly posted that you were at your 3/4 mark. Whoops! I blame it on pregnancy-brain!}

Your ninth month didn’t bring too much change, but you’ve been busy perfecting a lot of the milestones you reached last month. Starred Photos154

You are almost done with pureed baby food and onto all finger foods. It makes me a little sad, since I’ve really enjoyed making your baby food, but it’s now much more convenient to just feed you most of what Emory eats. You began eating meat this month, and since you’ve done so well with finger foods, we skipped pureed meat altogether, and your first taste was a few pieces of deli turkey from your sister’s lunchable! You’ve loved eating diced cheese, turkey, fruit and a few crackers {all by yourself!} at lunchtime. You love to have a Nutrigrain bar if we’re eating breakfast on the go, and your favorite treat is to share after-dinner ice cream with Granddaddy!IMG_1765 copy

You are cutting both your fifth and sixth tooth, one on either side of your two top front teeth. With a good dose of Motrin before bed, they seem to not give you too much trouble. With almost six teeth now, your gummy grins are becoming toothy grins! You still like to chew on anything you can find, and while you’re sleeping you usually trade sucking on your paci for chewing on a corner of your lovey.Starred Photos152

You continue to crawl all over the place, and have even perfected crawling {quickly!} up the stairs. You are still cruising along furniture and standing for short periods on your own. When you realize you are standing alone, you never just plop down, but instead, slowly lower yourself to sitting as if you’re scared to make any sudden movements. I’m not ready for you to walk quite yet, but I have a feeling you will be…well before your first birthday!

Starred Photos153 Daddy continues to call you our “little doorman” because you LOVE to open and shut doors. The bedroom doors. The cabinet doors. The oven door on Em’s play kitchen. Any door seems to hold your attention for a good, long stretch of time.

A few of your favorites at nine months are:

  • Trying to crawl after your sister as she runs circles around the house.
  • Puppies! You absolutely love when you get to play with Lynyrd, even if the feeling isn’t mutual. :)
  • Aunt Boo…which is good because Mommy has needed her to watch you lots lately!
  • Sneaking into Emory’s room and chewing on the pieces from her Barrel of Monkeys.
  • Cheerios. You can eat your weight in cereal, so we always have some on hand just in case you get fussy.
  • Playing peek-a-boo. You’ve recently gotten used to how it works, and you and Emory love to play at the kitchen table.
  • The washing machine. When it’s empty you open the door and stick your entire head in to look around. When I start a load, you stand at the door watching it spin- for at least five minutes at a time. Even when you’re in another room and you hear it running, you always come crawling around the corner to watch it spin.
  • Snuggling. No matter who it is, if you’re being held and someone kisses your cheek or nuzzles your neck, you lean into them until they do it again. And again. And again. Usually this goes on for a LONG time, because it’s pretty darn hard to say “no” to your sweet face! You also love to wake up for your bottle first thing in the morning, and if Emory is still sleeping, you and I snuggle in my bed and go back to sleep for a while. You’re such a great cuddle-bug!
  • Your Daddy! To be quite the mama’s boy, by the end of the day, you are SO excited to see Daddy walk in the door. You’re usually in your highchair eating dinner when he gets home. After kissing everyone hello, he always heads upstairs to change out of his suit, and you always watch him leave and then begin to cry for him to come back.

We head to the doctor next week for your nine month check-up, so we’ll see how you measure on the growth chart. Your chunky little thighs and happy personality make me think you’re growing just fine!

Happy nine months Baby Boy!

God Bless you Watson! What a cute little guy you are, and I bet when you are walking, you will keep right up with sister Emory, and want her to share everything. Great pictures! He has grown so quickly. And all those teeth already. Amazing. My grandson is 10 1/2 mos. and hasn't cut his first tooth yet!
Happy 9 months Cuteness!!!!

Hugs!
