Summer Field Trip: The Strawberry Farm

After swim lessons Emory, Watson and I met up with my cousin and her two girls for a quick lunch at Chick-Fil-A and then to pick strawberries.

Overall it was a great trip and we came home with lots of strawberries, which turned into delicious strawberry bread and strawberry pie!

Unfortunately it was 84,000 degrees outside and we absolutely roasted. The girls lasted for about 12 minutes before it was no longer fun, so the mommies {both pregnant!} were left to pick the rest in the hot hot sun. It happens to be the very end of strawberry season, so while we picked a few buckets full, and they were very tasty, the plants were pretty picked over and we had to search for some good ones.Starred Photos135 IMG_1280 Starred Photos134IMG_1292 Because we had gotten a lot of rain the weekend before, the ground was muddier than Baby Girl  would have liked and her shoes {thank the Lord for Crocs!} got stuck a few times. IMG_1293 The girls hung out under the shade while we finished picking, and they were tired…IMG_1297 hot…IMG_1299 and sweaty!IMG_1303 We had a few juice boxes while we paid for our loot and then hit the road for baths and naps.IMG_1305  Next time we’ll go a little earlier in the season and during the morning, but we had a wonderful time and will be able to enjoy our strawberries for months to come since we now have five (5!) dozen strawberry muffins in the freezer!!

Great pictures of your field trip. Bless her little heart, Sweet Emory was sweating so bad, even her beautiful eyelashes look wet. All the girls faces were soooo red, but they still looked like they were having fun. I envy you having all of those great muffins! Thanks for sharing your day. Hope you are feeling well.
HUGS!
