We made one last trip to the beach before school begins. We were able to visit with our cousins a little last weekend, but got to play lots this trip! Emory and Olin had the best time playing together. On the beach. At the house. Out to dinner. We even attempted a trip to the “rides”, but it was cancelled when the afternoon storms turned into all night storms. We look forward to seeing Baby Boy and Rhodes joining in on the fun next summer! Baby Boy enjoyed some walking practice with Daddy.
It was hard to capture the big kids standing still. Here are my best attempts. After a short while, I gave up trying and decided to sit back and just enjoy watching them play.
{Trying for a “hugging” picture, which Olin wasn’t interested in.}
Funny-face-Watson enjoyed climbing all over the chairs.
And then Daddy ruined it all by making him put his hat back on. :(
Uncle Brian, Olin, Daddy and Em headed into the water. After being TERRIFIED of the ocean for the first half of the summer, it has been so exciting to see her loving the water and begging to get in every minute we’re on the beach.
Baby Boy finally gave in to the exhaustion and took a much needed nap under the umbrella.
Although I was terrible about taking pictures this trip, we were actually joined by lots of family. Grandmama, Granddaddy, Aunt Boo, Alex, Aunt Jo, Channing, Uncle Chip and Aunt Frankie. In addition to the time on the beach, we enjoyed going out for pizza and TCBY, cooking crab legs for Aunt Boo’s birthday, playing play-doh with Olin and watching lots of movies.
Emory hated to leave the beach, knowing that Olin was staying, and has asked where he is or what he’s doing nonstop since we’ve been home! We can’t wait to see him again!
