3 Weeks To Go!

Or maybe even four, because as of today’s visit to the doctor, I have progressed ZERO. Apparently my uterus is as cozy as can be and Number Three is gonna have to be forced out. Just like Emory and Watson.

Regardless, we’re nearing the end and {as it always seems} I’m so ready, yet so not ready for the baby to be here.

Just when I think I have everything under control, my back decides to give up on me. I’m left tossing back painkillers, sitting on a heating pad and relying on someone else to take care of my kids most of the day.

For the record, sitting and doing nothing sounds like a dream until you have to actually, umm, sit and do nothing. Worst. Thing. Ever.

Well not ever. Baby Number Three is 100% healthy and for that I am so thankful. I realize things could be worse, but my to-do list is by no means short, and I’m wondering how in the world it might all be getting done.

Among many frivolous to-do list items, there are a few that would probably be best to get done before the baby arrives. Such as picking a name. {Thus far, we haven’t even started brainstorming, much less come up with any kind of short list!} There isn’t a single newborn diaper in my house. Nor is there a washed newborn onesie or paci or bottle or blanket.  I still need to order the double stroller and get the carseat and cradle out of the attic. Lord willing, somehow all of this will get done in the next few weeks.

While having to be off of my feet {which meant leaving work a whole month early} has been very inconvenient, it has awarded me some quality time with my babies, and that has been a wonderful treat. Emory visited the public library for the first time last weekend and we’ve been snuggling up to read some great books together. {I can’t believe we didn’t make our first library trip sooner! She came home with 15 books and kept saying ,“don’t we need to pay the lady for ‘dees books?” We’ll definitely frequent the library often now!} Watson has enjoyed lots of time playing with his new favorite toys- Thomas trains! {Although Emory loves them just as much and hides them behind the pillow on his nursery chair so he can’t find them. She’s asking for ‘Rosie’, the girl train for Christmas.} He loves to roll them along the tracks, furniture, his big ‘ole belly…sometimes even “choo-choo”ing as he does it!

As I’ve said before, I DO NOT LIKE pregnant pictures of myself. Chollet snapped this one {on the right} of me {and my little Alice} at a friend’s birthday party this weekend, and as much as I don’t like it now, I know that I’ll look back and be glad I have some documentation of being pregnant. Conveniently it was about the same point in this pregnancy as the photo {belly exposed = white trash. I know. Reason #347 why I hate this picture} I took during Watson’s pregnancy last year, so it least it serves as a good comparison.Starred Photos277

Aaron heads out of town for the week next Tuesday {see a pattern?}, so let’s hope Number Three stays put for at least another two weeks, then makes it’s grand debut!

I can understand why we all hate pregnancy pictures of ourselves, but I have to say that you look AMAZING. Skinny jeans while carrying baby #3? Pat yourself on the (aching) back, chica! You look adorable - just hope you feel better soon!
