After not being able to go into the stadium when we tailgated for the Furman game, Emory was very excited to have a special date with her Daddy at the Tennessee game. She talked all week about going to the baseball game to see Cocky. She climbed into our bed early this morning and said, “Mommy, I’m ready to put on my cheerleader dress and go to see the Gamecocks!”. After killing a couple of hours {eating breakfast and then playing dress-up, of course!}, she got dressed and was ready to go!
Emory and Daddy headed to tailgate with Grandmamma and Granddaddy for a couple of hours before the game. She cheered on the Gamecocks, sitting with Daddy, for the first half of the game, then found Grandmamma and Granddaddy in their seats, where she slept for most of the second half. By the end of the game she was exhausted and ready to head home.
For the rest of the afternoon, while Daddy watched more football, she kept pointing to the television saying, “I went there with Daddy today!”.
I know she enjoyed some special time with her Daddy, and because she didn’t get to give Cocky a high five today, we’re already talking about the upcoming basketball season and getting to visit Cocky at those games.
Way to go Cocks, on the win against the Volunteers, and congrats to Daddy’s Baylor Bears on an even bigger win against the Longhorns!!

So sweet. Hopefully Mommy got to take a rest on her heating pad all afternoon. :)
